For many years, pipe freezing has been a simple method of stopping the flow through sections of pipeline that do not have shutoff valves.
BJB’s new freezing jackets are non-invasive, harmless to the pipe, and easy to apply and use. Even better, nitrogen is non-toxic, and environmentally friendly.
Most freeze jackets contain the nitrogen between the jacket and the wall of the pipe. These jackets tend to leak large quantities of nitrogen. In a trench, the Nitrogen cannot disperse as quickly as it would in open air, and can pose a hazard to operators if it displaces the oxygen in air around the pipe.
BJB’s freeze jackets contain the nitrogen inside the wall of the jacket, making leaks much less likely. Evaporated nitrogen is vented out of the top the jacket, and can be conducted away from the trench where it can safely disperse.
